Blowing Fuses

[Handbrake hates Camping]

My AC in the D2 TD5 keeps blowing fuses (I also have rear air) anybody give me a guide on where to start looking for a probable cause.

mine used to do the same sometimes it would go for weeks before it would blow another fuse.

If you look at the wiring that goes to the plug that is mounted on the compressor you may find that the wiring has been rubbing on the compressor housing and worn a very small hole through the insulation causing a short, move the wiring away from the comprssor and wrap it in tape.

While you have the bonnet up check the two hoses going from the compressor one of mine blew last week where the hose was rubbing on the engine mount and there is a hose that goes from the tappet cover to the inlet hose on the turbo check that isn't rubbing on the alloy pipe on top of the compressor.

As said above - most fuse issues with air con are generally with a loose/dirty connection or leaking to earth somewhere

The internal fans run okay without aircon ?

Does the fues blow at any particular time - like when the compressor cuts in. ?

A worn wire would be my guess though

You got it one.... it was indeed the problem. So all fixed now. Will need to check those couple of hoses though.
