Winch, Compressors, 300W Inverter and Vacuum Sealers at Aldi

Sschmez got one of the Aldi winches last time (I think it was) and it worked pretty well the last time I saw him use it, I dont know if it is the same as Repco's though.

If he got his compressor from them then I wouldnt bother, I did my 4 and 2 of his in the time it took him to do 2 of his with his compressor but we thought it might have been a bit of resistance in the melted fuse that may have been slowing it down.

Mine is a propper bushranger.

I might get one of the Vacuum packers though, I normally get the butcher to do it when we go away but it would be heaps good to have the freezer at home with all vac'd stuff as well as it keeps much longer and a lot less mess.

The Missus cooks up Stews and honey mustard Chicken, Sweet and sour chicken and a host of other meals and always makes extra so that I can Vacuum pack a couple of each to freeze and take away when camping. They help cool the portable fridge down as well and all you need to do when you want a meal is plop a pack of your choice in a pot of boiling water and heat for about 10 minutes, snip bag and pour onto plate and when you're finished you have got a pot of hot water for the washing up, Regards Frank.

Xavie, yes mate I have one, they work great, the Rolls are good because you can pack all sizes from large to small, just cut to whatever length you require, if your putting something like a stew or anything with gravy/sauce, then dont fill a bag more than 1/3, clean any sauce/gravy off the inside you may have put there while loading into bag and keep the bulk of the food at the bottom of the bag to avoid sucking juice/gravy/sauce into the machine, after sealing, squash contents of bag out to the size of the pot you use to reheat and freeze, Regards Frank.

I did, once only though, another tip leave the empty part of the bag to the top, when you place in pot, so you have something to hold when you lift it out of the water and when you are cutting and pouring meal onto plate, Regards Frank.

IVe had all of them... (the sealer as a gift for someone and she hasnt complained about it yet (no not SWMBO) and heres my advice on them

repack the winch and use it on double line pulls (the relays and the wiring are not up to the full draw of the stalled winch against a good DBS with a 100+A alternator)
the compressors been very useful though I wouldnt trust it for more than 4 tyres at a go as a matress inflator or in dusty environments (place it in a pillow case for dust proofing)
The sealer Ive had no comment on
The inverter, I wouldn't run a swtichmode laptop power supply or anything thats got delicate supply electronics from it but for phone chargers, Nebulisers, Icap machines they do the job nicely.

I was hoping to get my hands on another one of the 3 in one battery boxes with the jumpers, lighter socket, 2xusb, compressor and lights on it.
with a 10W panel they're an excelent power solution for emergancys and tent camping.

If you already have a vacuum sealer the rolls of bags are also cheap at $14.99 for two 6m rolls.

Thanks Martyn that brings back memories of vac packing camel out on the Madigan Line running the Aldi vac packer off the inverter. That Aldi vac packer has vac packed 2 cows, about 10 lambs, kilos and kilos of fish and countless rabbits and other goodies without fail.
