G'day everyone, this is my first post so I hope you can help me out. I own a series 3 ute, fitted with a holden 186 engine. To be honest, the 186 needs a bit of a birthday, but other than that I'm pretty happy with it.
My main drama is the inability of the stromberg to cope with driving up (and down to a lesser extent) hills.
I have read a few threads on this site about fitting strombergs to LR engines, but is there something I can put on my 186 to stop this fuel drama?
I have thought of seeing what baffles can be made for the fuel bowl (not ideal, as I presume they stop 'sloshing', but not much good on a long uphill run). I have also thought of a twin zenith set up (as I presume 1 is too small for a 186). What about a 6 cyl carb from a LR engine?
Any info would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance.
Pat
