Can Anyone advise where I can get good maps of Canada & Alaska? Something similar to Hema maps would be good, but I guess probably not available.
Also any advice re running a Garmin CSx and availability of suitable digital maps for 'up north' would be appreciated.

TIA
Roger

Hi Roger;

Think you have some downloading to do;

Check in here , just type the name of the Place that you require Topo maps for and download

Canadian Topo Maps on-line (http://www.calgarymountainclub.com/home.php?page=maps)

all the Canadian Topo maps are available On-line courtesy of the tax-payers

oh WRT advice on Garmin GPS units and suitable maps, logon to http://gpsaustralia.net/forums/

Thanks Disco owner, I'll give that a go.
There's nothing quite like a Topo for a bit of detail to pour over.

All I need now is something similar for Alaska - Anchorage, Denali, Fairbanks, Kok etc.

Cheers,
Roger

Thanks for all your searching Disco owner.
I might have to leave the follow up on the Alaska maps until I return from trip next week.
I'm not far from you so maybe you could drop around some time and we could have a yarn - it seems I owe you a few beers.
I'll PM you.

Cheers,
Roger
