I have been making a rear bar for my D1.It is my first attempt at making something from steel so give me some leway.I first got a local metal shop to weld in some corners on a bit of 2.5" pipe. Then i welded on some angle and some flat to hold it on.Cut my gaurds so it would slide underneath them.I had to move my gas filler out of the way but not much of a problem. Then welded some more flat that will screw up to the body.I hope it will be strong enough. It is a bit agricultural but should do the job.So here are a few photos of it and i will post one of the finished product when i finish painting it and fit it.Cheers Brett

are you going to do a swing away wheel carrier as well or will it just be a bar ;)

Good stuff, only 2 things to pick on
1. when you go larger tyres the spare will hit.........one day you WILL put bigger tyres on:D
2. Are you going to do a body lift, it'll be a pain to mod it later.......you will put a BL in with the bigger tyre's
3. I'd wait till you fit a body lift, that way you can bracket down and tuck it 2"s close to the rear so it doesn;t stick out
4. I must get someone with a Disco so I can make one up:D
The last 2 aren't picking;)

Must be time you Tasweigens did a high country trip;)
We could arrange, it then..............along with quarter cut.............Body lift............flares:D
I asked JC if he wanted to fit flares on the way back down south from his trip, I said a heap of beer in the shed with the fire roaring would help ease the pain:twisted: No reply:(

If you want you can biuld a better one for me and do the body lift:rolleyes:.

No its not hard but i did cut the breather lines so becareful. It will hang down a little i had to cut and reweld the inside of the bar to go around it.But depends how you design the bar to where you need to cut it.Cheers Brett
