Found this looking around. Don't know if you've seen it before.

just to make you laugh, a similar thing happened by accident to a brand new (380km on the clock) 70 series trayback about 3 weeks ago at a mine up here...... the open cut examiner parked his ute to investigate a burning haul truck, the fire killed the brakes on the haul truck, and it rolled right over the landcruiser!

G'day All, Thats been around for quite a while now, and in my opinion it wasn't fitted with engine or transmission when the dumpster rolled over it, and just imagine what your Land Rover would look like as well, very flat indeed cheers Dennis:wasntme:

I don't think that I'd be risking the cost of damaging two truck tyres on flattening a Toyota. There must be a cheaper way: the price of one tyre on a truck that size is in excess of $40,000 and has a 12 month supply time.

I wonder if the driver still has a job...no not the toyota driver.:p

The Toyota didnt have any engine or gearbox as the tyres are actually worth $100K each they took them out. I was told it was done at Paraburdoo

We had lots of similar photos in my days peddling mining and construction equipment. A Datsun dropside ute that was about 6" thick and 20' wide after a 200 ton coal hauler backed over it. The Datsun's driver parked in the shade behind the hauler so it was not in the 50 degree sun whilst he had his crib. Another was a high drive D8 dozer with its back end pushed flat when the operator got too close to the dragline he was cleaning up around whilst it moved. The dragline stamped its little foot and got the dozer just behind the cab. Bet that called for a change of trousers.

I presume you're talking cost of tyres on the truck and not the Toyota ;):D

Looks possibly to be Tom Price Iron Ore mine ( near Paraburdoo ? )

I really would have liked to see the clip (still on my computer training wheels).
A few years ago, up here in Darwin, a RAAF jet on exercises dropped a dummy missile by accident on a Landcruiser trayback. The company who owned it kept it out the front as an advert, the missile still artistically nose-down in the engine bay and front wheels splayed. I dunno if it's still there...
