Ok so I have CDL internals but...do I spend about $1k on a CDL kit and installation...or do I save that and put it towards the cost of lockers (I already have an on-board air-compressor)???

Yes, yes, I know I could save buckets doing the CDL myself with second hand bits etc...but I have neither the time nor the facilities to do it.

(Alas, gone are the days when I could spend the time pulling something to bits, fettling it and puttin' it back together)

What do you all reckon?

Cheers
Mike

I would reccomend going the CDL before you goto the lockers....

(unless you like crawling around under the beastie with the 4 inch shifter.)

Lockers are useless without CDL.

Cheers guys!
Well that's sorted that then :) CDL it is!

Remember the CDL being quite good in my D1, but that's like, 8 years ago now and age has wearied my brain... :p

Was kind of hoping that would be the case as the Heep is almost due for its big lift (that will doubtless cost more than I've budgeted for). :(
Thanks

You will be pleasantly surprised just how good a locked CDL works with the TC!!!!

I just bought a 99 DII and Im in the same boat with the CDL or locker bit. I have have two left hands and was actively discouraged from following in the "old boys" (sorry Pop) footsteps and learning anything automotively mechanical. Ill have to pay some one to do it for me but having read around here a bit leaning down the CDL path. Well leading someone down the CDL path to do it for me.

Well, I just don't seem to have time, space or non-metric tools! So off to the shop it goes! Will be a lot cheaper than lockers, and that's $$ I'm going to need for the Heep.
Good luck with yours!
Cheers
