Hello all

Well its official and now have a 2000 TD5 auto next to the 1991 original with wife, sort of talking!!!

Anyway, I've been reading everywhere about flashing on later models and 2000 is pre-and I must admit I have not taken the ECU apart to have a peek but is there a type of prom that can be purchased off the shelf.

I have access to various electronic guru's for removing, burning and etc but best to ask anyone who has attempted this before. Naturally install a cradle and backup if things go pear shaped or am I travelling new ground here.

Yep, I'm driven by the challenge and sometimes successful, Geoff

Okay,

Would I be better off buying a post 2002 new/secondhand ECU and use this one and keep the original. Then the question is does a later TD5 auto flashable work on a 2000 model TD5 auto, given from my searching her looks like possibly only transmission changes (I think)

What price is approx and I can get on the blower to secure

Thanks in advance

Geoff

Send a PM to Tombraider/Mike (new user name is Tombie2 I reckon).

He is up in Whyalla, but will send stuff to you overnight.
Cheers

Okay, and will send PM, actually as we speak I am changing oils, pulling out the ECU to have a peek inside and the best part, the handbrake drove off to the shops with all the oils in the other vehicle. Gotta love it.

Like a fat boy all over a smartie, I'm on it, will report back later.

Yeah you can tell, 3 days with the second landrover!
