Just wondering about how people get arround the issue of highly caustic/acidic/various other chemicals been dumpped into waist oil drums. I know at work, when I first got there people used to dump highly caustic waste chemicals into the drums, and god knows what else. It seems to be pretty common practice.

I know it seems similar, the use of caustic material mixed with oil to make biofuel, but there is generally no way around those old practices. On a fluke, perhaps it could work to some degree, but not often.

Look up 'alcohols & esters' in a high school chemistry book or google. It should give you a bit more background into what actually happens when you mix those sort of things - I remember making soap in Chemistry class.
