what a motor!
my weekend job was to tow a 81 RR up to glouster tops from sydney for a mate i've converted to the dark side!
the trailer was close to a ton and the RR should weigh in at 2300kg.
now i know the 90 weight's 2200kg so all up the little 2.5 was lugging 5.5t!!
ive got and issue with clutch flare http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/56565-td5-clutch-flare.html but i could drive around it.
i left around 6 30pm from beverly hills got there 4 hrs later.
mount white hill i thought ide be back to about 40kph, nup.... cruised up that one at 80kph, 20psi boost 650deg EGT, think it was 2500rpm and slightly backing off to keep the EGT to 650. she would sit happily at 110k's but i decided to sit between 90-100, the short wheel base was a bit twitchy after 100 especially on the MT tyres...
all up my return trip was 577k's and ide used 80l of juice. the return trip was minus the RR and trailer. so for all that work i reckon 13.8l/100 is flamin brilliant from a very non stock 90:)
