D2 Paint Codes (II 00.5MY)

Hi All,
Well - i'm at the stage of wanting to do a few cosmetic touchups to some scratches on the D2. The first owner (I am the 3rd) did a real bodgejob on some 'scratches'. I've looked on the plate @ the front of the D2 and the paint code is: 696. However, I did a googleschmoogle search and came across this website:

with Landrover (and other vehicle) codes.

The code only remotely similar to the 696 is:
LANDROVER ALVESTON RED PEARL LRC696/CDX 1999 2000 METALLIC

My landrover is a 2000 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY II 00.5MY metallic burgandy in colour.

My question is:

What does LRC/CDX stand for, would it be the same code as the plain 696 on the plate?

I don't know what all the letters you mention refer to but your paint code is 196.

Can't help with the code, but can tell you LR just sold me the touch up brush-in-bottle set (one colour bottle, one clear coat bottle, 12ml in each) for $18 (mine is Epsom Green, STC1774 VT), which is not expensive for this sort of thing.

Goodluck on matching Reds,red is the most effected colour by UV damage.
Talk to a good spraypainter,they have the means to get a close match taking UV damage into account.
My Black D2 scratches white:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:.
A black texta will hide scratches for a while:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Thanks for the replies. I actually spoke with Body Shop Paint Supplies in Seaford VIC and they have the paint in stock. When he entered it into the system the code came up with the landrover alviston red. Not sure where the 196 comes from though as the word 'paint' then '696' is embossed into the metal plate :-)... think I will ask them about the 196 though as see what comes...
