I saw an interesting email doing the rounds which may stop the price of fuel going up it is suggested.
The suggestion is fairly simple. If you boycott a large brand like BP who they suggest is one of the worst offenders for pushing up prices and their maket share drops like a brick...what would they do to regain their market share...
Drop the price of their fuel per litre to attract the buyers back. In other words a price war.
From now on I will absolutely not be buying fuel from BP. What have I got to lose at $1.90 litre in Karratha for deisel. Tell others........if you are interested in trying something to fight back at the basxxrds.

If you do a search - I think the boycot was on the Coles chain of petrol/service stations.

ROFL - it doesn't work...
Where do you think the fuel in WA comes from, if not from BP??? They have a MONOPOLY on everything except LPG (Wesfarmers also sell some).
In other states there is a DUOPOLY at best.
But that doesn't stop the emails doing the rounds again and again...

Oil goes up and so does petrol/diesel. The BP near my office has diesel for $1.64 which is 7c a litre cheaper than what the other major stations are charging. I'll keep going there to save my 7c plus it is convenient.
But do I use the 4c vouchers? Sure I do, at IGA, take any fuel receipt in and they give you the equivalent to 4c/L off on your groceries. Works for me and they seem to be much better priced than the local Coles and Woolies. I will not use them for fruit & veg though, my local fruit guy had bananas for 29c/kg and all the varieties of cabbage for 99c. Those small red potatoes cant remember what they're called but they were 79c/kg.
I have more satisfaction shopping around and refusing to buy goods when I can get them cheaper elsewhere. It gives me more satisfaction than just boycotting large chains.

Ok well to start with it doesnt work because your only talking to about .1 of the population here if that so I dont really think any business that is even national would notice.
If one area boycotted a company like BP then they would just simply close it down or sell it to another supplier that they own anyway.
If you want to get a good deal on fuel then find someone with their own tanks and buy a share in bulk.
When it is sold at around about $1.60 ltr retail, I get it between .5c and .10c cheaper getting it in bulk but sometimes it can be more expensive but only buy a cent or 2 but most of the time it's cheaper.

Us consumers are pocket change peanuts...
Consider the iron ore mines and all other resource mines in general.
Mt Whaleback iron ore in Newman WA, has a delivery of 1 road train a day.
1 Prime mover, 4 trailers... 120,000L of diesel per day is delivered.
They dont care about your 50L buddy 8)

I don't think it's any one company. In my local suburb BP is sometimes 5-10c/l cheaper, next week it is the local Caltex. Just a matter at watching the web and buying at the cheapest price for the day.

Well here all the fuel comes in the one tanker, BP owned, from Singapore. So while the petrol stations are branded Shell, United, Caltex, BP or Mobil it is from the same supplier.
