Well I've rebuilt the EDIC motor, sussed it out and wired it in and all is well, but in an effort (well lack of effort) to save me rumageing through my 120, has anyone got a diagram, the only thing I'm yet to suss, is the oil pressure switch, I want to know how its hooked up as its N/O with no oil pressure which is unusual, I want to know, in which method its wired from factory:(
Will post some more pics later:D

What's an EDIC? You're not working on a toyota anymore, this is superior ISUZU technology :p:D - If memory serves it is called a "fuel cutout solenoid" or something like that.
My wiring diagram is at home. If you haven't had an answer by the time I get there I will post it up...

May be out of a truck with a pos earth.
If thats the case then it would be wired the same as an alternator light where when there is oil pressure it closes and feeds pos to both sides of the light and when it doesnt the globe can go to neg through a diode.
I may be wrong, I havnt had anything to do with them but one of my machines wroks that way, is a PITA but it works.

Umm, I think so, but can't read it:(
Would you mind emailing it to me:)

I'm well aware of ways I "could" do it, but want to know how it was done from factory;)

I think I'll draw it up properly and put it up as a sticky

I can only help ya from one angle... when I replaced mine, I found that the part was cheapest from the isuzu parts joint (westar trucks in Coburg for my case), not LR or LR specialists... took a lot of searching back through three generations of parts books to find the modern equivalent, but we got there in the end :)

Cheers, well incase i need one:D
I was going to research some of your posts, you sourced parts for the EDIC motor, yea?
The one I got off JC the motor housing is badly rusted, with holes and all:(, hence the tear down, working fine, but when it spins, its noisy, the lower bush was also suffering from corrosion and is loose
"might" replaceit, price dependant of course:D

There must be some bad traits, from still working on jappers every now and then:D

I seem to recall rar110 got a start-stop solenoid (EDIC) for a reasonable price from somewhere. I found a place in china that sold them, but dealing with them was a bit difficult.
I have my wiring diagram now, but I assume you are sorted?

Nah, giz a look, maybe it'll be clearer:D

The place I bought the stop control solenoid doesn't stock them anymore. Brian bought one from Singapore about a year ago. I remember it was a good price.
I put a Isuzu stage 1 circuit diagram up a while ago. It's still there a couple of pages back if your looking for one.

EchiDna, or anyone else,
I think my oil pressure switch isn't working, well I hope thats the problem, does anyone have a current part number for the switch?
Dave's Disc's parts diagrams indicate it is either 983140-1570 or 983140-3100, but can't find either in online parts searches.
Is there a way to test the pressure switch without knowing if oil is coming up to pressure? My oil warning light won't go out though oil is still being pumped to the rockers...

Is the pressure switch the one with the 2 wires in the top, or just a single connection.
I didn't bother wiring up the one with 2 wires - I just fitted a "normal" single wire one from supercheap into the hole in the oil gallery - forward of where the 2 wire one fits.
If you don't have a pressure gauge and appropriate fittings you could fit a new switch (about $10 from memory) to that point and just check with a multimeter when the engine is running. That will tell you if you have minimum pressure (and that your existing one isn't working correctly).
Alternatively, if you have a compressed air regulator with gauge and some fittings to connect it to the switch (removed from engine) you could use compressed air to test if the switch is working OK.
I haven't looked at the wiring diagram for a while, but I've got a recollection that the 2-wire switch is tied in with the reverse switch somehow.
BTW - I got a couple of hits on those P/N's in Google, but you need to remove the dash and just use the numbers. No useful info or piccy, except that its an oil pressure unit.

Thanks Steve, removing the hyphen helped a lot :)
EDIT: Those numbers might not be right, they are listed for UNIT; OIL PRESSURE METER, whereas it is more likely to be SWITCH; OIL PRESS. WARNING of which there are 6 versions listed. /EDIT
Now while crawling around trying to find it in the dark to tell how many wires its got, I think I found my problem isn't the switch afterall. There's a little bit of oil spray...will work out where its come form in the morning.

Here's a photo of mine.
You can see the wires and 2 bullet terminals from the 2-wire switch just behind the oil cooler feed pipe. They aren't connected to anything.
The round VDO style pressure sensor to the right (forward) with the red terminal is what I removed to fit a standard pressure switch. Its threaded into the main oil gallery.

Hey Steve just wondering if you know what the thread size of your round vdo pressure switch is?
The switch I got with my gauge does not fit.

Not 100% sure, but I've got a feeling it might have been 1/8 NPT.
It had a brass extension piece that screwed into the gallery, so I just took that into Supercheap and found a pressure switch with the same size thread.

One of the diagrams below might help - from Aus supplement for Isuzu engine in 110's in pdf format.
The other diagram is out of the archives.
