Hi All

Just wondering the cheapest place to buy kerosene. I need about 3 gallons for my parts washer.

I went to the local servo and they wanted to sell it to me in 1 litre bottles at some crazy price.

A company called ERS, they are state wide and is the cheapest place ive found parts washing fluid which isnt just Kero but is mostly Kero (I think) with some lanoline and other stuff in it to make it not as bad for you.

For parts washing use narrow cut kerosene.

The Solvent Story (http://www.oilchem.com.au/solvent_story.htm) <--- these people supply it.

I used to use diesel in my parts washer. It was cheap and it evaporates off quite well.

Not only that, the dirt settles out of it quite well.

Definitely not good for you though (not sure how it compares to regular kero), but will burn the skin eyes etc quite severely.
