Hey All, long time no speak....

I need to have the electrical wiring fitted to my 2004 Disco for towing stuff....

Does anyone know if there is a dedicated "powerpoint" spot... looked :eek:through the manual, etc... and there is no mention apart from the driving skill and car behavior....

Also, do you guy's know of a reliable (Landy Experienced) auto electrician around the Eastern Suburbs area?

Looking forward to your input.... happy 4X4'ing :)

Eastern suburbs of where?

If it is anything like the Defender (and it probably is) there is a plug at the rear of the car ready to receive the tow kit electrics. The Defender one is up under the RH wheel arch - I have read somewhere that the Discovery one is behind one of the rear lights.

The plug is designed to take the UK wiring kit which is different to Australian trailer wiring. My auto electrician (and most others I presume) left the plug in place and just joined the trailer plug loom in wire by wire.

As Mr Solmanic says, there should be a socket in the vicinity of the rear D/side lights inside the D2. There have been threads about D1 version, and according to rave, there is something the same for the D2. P/N STC50181. It's part of Accessories-Towing-Towing electrics- they call it a 'lead-link'. If you do not want someone cutting and splicing your wiring loom, use one of these and fit whatever end you need to the end of it. Then you can take it off when not needed, or change sockets if you change trailers.
