diesel fuel line question

G'day fellas,
I would like to replace the plastic fuel line from the lift pump to the filter with a rubber line on the disco because of frustrating olive setup :mad:. But I keep getting conflicting advice on doing it. Some people say yes you can others say no you can't because diesel will perish the rubber line. What can be used?

what do big trucks and toyotas use as fuel line, rubber i guess.

I have good news and bad news:

Good news- visit Pirtek or similar and ask for oil proof fuel line. Since it's low (relatively) pressure, it will last a long time without problems.

To replace the line between the lift pump and filter, you'll need one replacement banjo fitting for the filter end.

Bad news- the lift pump end is just plain pipe. The compression fitting ( The name for the fitting using the brass olive you don't like) is used because there isn't a ridge on the pipe to prevent a hose and jubilee clip from slipping off. (Like the radiator hose ends). It might work for a little while, but I think the vibration and flexing will cause it to slip off. You can get a compression fitting with a barbed end and use fuel line to replace the plastic, but that still leaves you with compression fittings.
