crawled all over the disco d2 today as i do regularly to keep an eye on things & guess what.one of the bolts for the sump was gone...shine a torch up the hole& you can see the thread.:(
guess who changed the sump gasket not long ago under warranty?:mad:the dealer
they either decided to leave it out or it fell out because it was'nt tight:o
and they want me to return & pay for jobs to be half done....i dont think so.....anyway things could be worse...sump plug wasnt loose:)
there is a t in the vacuum line that runs to the brake booster(think thats what u call it)that has nearly rubbed through the large coolant line that comes from the expansion tank.in true landy engineering the t only has to be installed either an inch to the left or right ,there is heaps of room, and there wouldnt be a problem.
also....the fuel cooler is a small square block on this engine....does anyone know when or why they were changed?
you guys with later model td5s should check this(the t & coolant hose) ....could save some greif
cheers
