I have just rebuilt my carburettor. I can give you the Fuel Miser part number if you need it.

Just relating my varied experiences with carby kits.. I purchased the Fuel Miser kit ... it's available here in Aust. Very overpriced for what was actually in it .. the diaphrams didn't fit correctly either .... I give it a 1 out of 5 .Very dissapointed . The 'MISER' part of its brand name best decribes the contents of this kit .
The Zenith brand kit is much better .. 3 out of 5 .This kit is available from Gower and Lee in the UK ...they also sell SU pump kits at reasonable prices .Very easy company to deal with , recomended .
I purchased an original SOLEX rebuild kit off Ebay.. this is the one to get . With new jets ,throttle shaft/butterfly , new inlet union and nut and a new float too ...it has just about everything . Not a easy kit to find these days..gaskets included but no diaphrams included 4 out of 5 .

Well the fuel miser kit that I purchased was about the same price as all the other kits that I have purchased. How much was yours? My diaphragm did fit.

Hi Aaron
I think I got ripped off with the MISER kit ..it was about 80 bucks from a well known carby repair company In Melbourne ... The accelerator pump assembly body inner gasket supplied in the kit WONT work ...believe me . There is supposed to be a thickish fibre gasket between the acc. pump assembly and the main carby body itself . ..if you use the supplied gasket , petrol will squirt out the hole where a tag is missing on the gasket . That MISER kit isn't a Land Rover specific kit .. its a generic kit meant for other makes with similar carbies ..
Anyway..I hope yours works OK .
A problem that caused me headaches was the float was jamming and causing flooding ... the float arm was faulty .
