You rarely see an accurate comparison with 4x4 videos. There is no way of telling if these are both equal in mods but they do look very similar. This sits very well with a grand c I was off road with.

Well I don't think the Grand has the same clearance as the Disco anyway, but added to that the D1 seems to be wearing bigger rubber and more lift...so not really surprised the poor sod kept getting stuck - especially in the bits where the D1 had spun a bit! Lol!!

Nice vids mate!
seems the disco has a little lift and muddies though.
doesn't look like any lockers are involved either.

I was out with a newer GC (had quadratrac II whatever that is) than this one, the more curvey one. We had a TD prado, LC ute, jackeroo, navara x 2, surf and some others. Fairly good representation. Anyway the GC was by far the least capable. No cars had any mods. In obs all cars were getting through with ease and unassisted while the GC was being pulled through. I think they are least capable of the jeep range and think a disco is actually better even though this disco does seem to have bigger tyres. A regular cherokee replacing the disco in this video would have the same result.

Did these guys have recovery points? - Didn't look like it.

Would you venture into situations where you're likely to get stuck if you didn't have a good recovery point?

i saw a video a while ago of a cherokee, a wrangler and an old landy (Series 2 i think) trying to get up a hill. the jeeps failed with loads of wheelspin, the landy just puttered up... probably not an accurate comparison, i can't really believe that jeeps could be quite that bad yet have sucha reputation... no doubting the landy would still cream them though!

I tend to agree, I think the GC is low, overweight and has poor approach & departure angles (in the absence of mods), whereas a regular Chero (if we're talking the XJ not the KJ) would likely fare much better. We also don't know if the D1 had his CDL engaged (hehe).
