Hi all, I'm trying to get my 110 set up for a bit of off road use. I want to fit a 4 bolt Dixon-Bate hitch, (if anyone knows where to get these please let me know!), to the rear cross member as a recovery point.
I don't have a "tow pack" fitted, (and don't want to fit one either). But I've had a look at the fixing point on the cross member, and well, its a bit meek to say the least.
Other than making a complete rear bar up is there anyway of reinforcing this point? Or is this designed to be used as a recovery point as it is?
I had a pintle fitted to my '89 110, but that was bolted right through the crossmember and reinforced with 10mm plate. It doesn't look at though I could do this on my new 110 without drilling out the captured nuts already there and welding in "crush tubes" in the hollow part of the cross member.
Any ideas and help will be much appreciated.
