Usually I am pretty good with electrical stuff but this is driving me nuts.
I have a factory DVD player in the 2003 Disco but am having a problem with the monitor.
The DVD player which is seperate from the monitor is working fine but the monitor sometimes works perfectly and sometimes I get nothing.
It is obviously a power issue to the screen, a loose connection somewhere. Have checked fuses which are fine and connections from DVD player. The only thing I haven't done is remove the roof mounted monitor as they have special little locking screws that I can't get off.
Has anyone else had this problem or maybe know how to fix it? Do I have to try and chase up the little tool to remove these screws so I can have a look at roof wiring?

I have the reverse problem....mine doesnt work.......wish I had known that when I bought it, apparently mine is a problem with the box itself, either its not spinning the disc or something else. I know thats not much help :D, but I do empathise........especially with the kids asking when I am going to get it fixed ,

Get dealer to fix (assuming it is still under warranty) There have been many and various issues with the audio, video and sat nav units.
If you are out of warranty, post a question on DISCO3.CO.UK - Dedicated to Discovery 3 and LR3 Owners and Enthusiasts (http://www.disco3.co.uk) as there are lots of folks with expert knowledge of the D3 elecronics and electrical systems.

I'd suggest looking at the video/audio splitter box, should be down next to the player under the seat. Might be dodgy or the power or video feed might be loose.

Splitter box checked and video 1 and 2 working no loose video feed either.

Stevo if you have power to the screen and power to the player you may just need the country codes as they sometimes reset themselves. Check the screen if it says an error message. I have had evry problem with mine and managed to fix it but am having trouble with this one. Let me know it may be a problem I have had in the past and may be able to help you out.

did you have any joy fixing it? My player just spins and spins I think the laser has gone, anyone know what player is compatible to just replace the Eurovox factory issue one, without shelling a small fortune?

Took the whole thing apart and put it back together and for some strange reason decided it wanted to work again so at the moment all systems go.
If you DVD player is spinning it should be working. Press the Monotor on/off switch and this will either put you on AV1 or AV2. Check to see if you get anything Either a message which may say you need the country code or a small spinning disc in the top left hand corner which means it is trying to read the disk.
If it says wrong country code let me know as I have the codes and will explain what you need to do. Good luck. If all else fails you can easily by a cheap DVD player and install it in place of the old.
