Hi,

I'm hoping some of the more informed help me with a little advice please?

Can anyone point me in the direction of an Australian supplier of Arnott III front & rear air springs.

HRA advertise but do not supply them any more and I have not seen anyone who stocks and sells them in Australia.

If you know of a viable alternative this would also be appreciated.

Many thanks
Dean.

Hi guys - curious as to how you went with the Arnott airbags?

I'm looking to change over the bags on my '95 P38A HSE as the LH rear bag is perishing and figure I might as well change 'em all over for something a bit stronger and better for offroad. The Arnott Gen3's look like the go.

Interested to hear your experiences in buying them, and if you've had them fitted yet.

cheers
Paul.

Just a quick update, the air springs arrived from Florida within six days as too the shocks and pollen filters from New York. All i need now is to install these ( a big ask from a guy who makes teeth for a living ! cheers

Hi olemandave

my Arnott Gen3 air springs arrived last Friday (about a week delivery from Arnotts in Florida) and are being fitted by Canberra Motor Works. I should have the Rangie back on Monday and am looking forward to the comparison with the old standard air springs.

I haven't gone with new shocks just yet so will be interested to hear how you go with yours. Did you go for longer shocks to take advantage of the longer reach of the Gen3 air springs?

cheers and best wishes
Paul.

Hi Paul. Great to hear everything arrived as expected. As i purchased this vehicle new eight years ago i have confess , beyond a little beach driving i have never used it to its full capability hence its still in showroom condition. I must admit i didnt consider longer shocks to take advantage of the increased travel of the springs for this reason, and was under the impression standard length would include the auto lift height if the body was grounded . Would this then reflect to adequate travel for the shock / spring ? On another note ( and probably should be in another thread ) after vacuuming today i found the heater O rings have failed again. O well it wouldnt be a Range Rover if i wasnt spending Money .

Regards Olemandave

Hi Olemandave - think I got a bit carried away and confused by various magazine articles about extreme suspension mods to Discos, RRC and Defenders (but never a P38A)... I'm pretty sure the shocks aren't going to be a problem with the Gen3 air bags.

I got my Rangie back today and Ray over at Canberra Motor Works informed me that the car now sits approx 35mm taller on "offroad/extended" height. And it feels it too, or perhaps it is just that I've been driving a Ford Laser around for the past week! :) Normal height is same as before as I can still drive the car in under the garage door at home.

Ain't that the truth. After chasing a "flat spot" in the performance of mine recently, we've gone through 2 Crank Pos Sensors, head gasket, 2 catalytic converters and a fuel pump - all were bad but it seems that the fuel pump was the culprit. Just as well I'm expecting a refund on my tax return real soon.

Cheers, Paul.
