How do you clean Canvas?
I need to clean the canvas on my Camper-Van, it is heavy-duty green canvas and it has sap stains on the roof panels and some greasy hand marks and dirt (mud) on the sides, also I want to clean my swag as well, I will be waterproofing it all after washing and drying.
Any info or tips would be much appreciated, Regards Frank.

that usually works for me, if not you can use a product called RV awning cleaner and a scrubbing brush. but make sure you wash off the awning cleaner straight away otherwise it will discolour the canvas

Bung it in a perforated drum and tow it behind the ship for awhile.

A couple of things that have worked for me are vinegar and also you could try using pineoclean wipes or similiar.
You can also use diluted bleach but if you use that you need to rewater proof it

i have a jeep wrangler soft top and the only thing i have found that will get the mud stains out is the degreaser at carlovers than high pressure hose

I have used a Chux Magic Eraser to clean a dirty canvass tent and poly pull-out awning on my caravan that was covered with tree sap and leaf stains. It is available in a couple of varieties for hard and soft surfaces. We have used the one that is white and has a thin blue sponge on one side. As the name implies, it really works likes magic and takes out dirt and stains that only a harsh detergent might remove.
Good luck with it.

This is the third time I have posted this thank you, it keeps disappearing.
Thanks to all who that have replied it is most appreciated, a tip I got off a Tent maker is NOT to use a stiff bristle brush on canvas as it will fray the threads, Regards Frank.
