Lol!

"We" have no idea what you mean... ;)

It's a "factory" type one using the existing linkage and the lever from a D1 or late D2 - not sure. Not a "push button" one.

Me and my big mouth...

As Edmund Blackadder once said, "the path of my life is strewn with the cowpats of the devil's own satanic herd!"

Linkage ready, VIN number checked, we know the internals and switch are there, but...

...no spigot on top of transfer output casing. VIN says it should be there, so either case was swapped when the previous owner replaced the transmission or LR didn't have one handy and chucked on whatever was on the shelf.

So a relatively straightforward job is now on hold pending the arrival of a suitable casing plus the cost to R & R the transfer.

Doh!

What model year is your vehicle. Midways in 2000 was when LR took out the CDL spigot, from memory. What a stupid move from a 4x4 manufacturer.

Yeah, but that's the thing - it's a June 2001 (which is MY02 I think) and the VIN says it should be there. Now I know the trans was swapped at some stage in it's previous life and it appears maybe the x-fer as well - hence the problem.

The guys are having all sorts of trouble tracking down a front x-fer output casing with the right combination of specs. Had a couple of suggestions in my separate thread for help to track one down, which we'll follow up...but so far that makes the count of 4 different casings which aren't suitable!

Cheers
