G'day, I'm Gaz. New to the site. Im about to come into possession of a '62 Series 2 109 L/R. It has the Holden 202 'Red' moter. It also hasn't been registered in 25/6 years and only moved once sience. Has been garaged, moter has only done 20000km. Im wondering what some issues with registration may be if they arrise, or will it be just blue sliped then pass rego(if everything goes right). If anyone has any ideas it would be of great assistance. Also ive heard of some people putting the Holden 'ecotec' moter in, how does it run in the L/R?
What about the ADR's to do with Seatbelts?

If you have old rego papers, or even the old rego label on the window there should be no worries with rego as long as it blue slips ok, if you don't have any paper work to show its been reg'd with the holden you will need a engineers cirt for it,price ranges anywhere from 300 to 700 bucks for one, also they have just changed the law where the certifying engineer has to do the work (supposed to anyway)

Put in a modern motor and you have to meet emissions rules for the year of the engine. Do you want that hassle? :(

Hi Ron
The ADRs refer to the chassis age,so being 1962,no seatbelts or emissions,in fact NO ADRs at all,too old.
You can fit a modern motor, you are not obliged to use the Cats on the exhaust.I had to answer this question when applying for my mods for the SER3 with the ford V8.They were happy for a Cat free exhaust to be fitted.

Go onto the RTA website and fill out the attached form and sent or fax with your $18 to the Grafton office address on the form. There is a chance your vehicle will still be in the system and they can send you previous rego and other information - I did it with my series 1 and my FC 101 and did yet information - the series 1 was last registered in 1981 and they still had the info even though records officially do not go back that far. http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/publicationsstatisticsforms/downloads/45070476.pdf
Also while I am sure the issue of engineering as mentioned above is correct I would double check. I did a conversion in the late 70s and at the time engineering in NSW was not required because the RTA at the time had decided that the mod if it used a recognised kit did not need engineering - it was a certified mod. I am not saying this still applies butn check to make sure.
