LPG Economy ??

Hey Guys,

Just a quick question for all who have a gas system fitted to a D2, and more specifically fitted by LPGAS1

I have a venturi system fitted by these guys and i am having economy problems ??

What economy are you guys getting ??

55 litres gets me 220-250 around town and 300-350 on the highway.

D2 Auto.

mrapocalypse, your economy figures are only a couple litres off petrol consumption, by the looks of it. Is that what you noticed when you had the conversion?

What system and tanks are you running?

Not sure of the system, but it has made the Disco a better car all round. It's the one they fit to Holden V8's. Sequential or closed loop or something.

Economy is just a tiny bit worse than petrol but it's been so long since I did a road trip on Petrol i don't really know.

I have a 55l (usable) manifold tank in the back on the floor, which is very cool! Bought that off Ebay. Whole thing cost me 4200 minus rebate. Paid for itself already. 69.9/l where I get it! How about that, like the 90's fuel prices.

I'm getting 19-20 round town, 17-18 on a trip in my 93 auto 3.9 RR
and
17-19 round town, 15-17 on a trip in my 76 man 4.4 RR.

I get about 300-350 on 80 litres of gas in my 3.5 rangie classic which is about what I get on petrol just at half the price.;)

Well, its actually probably the wrong term since its the most un-economical fuel to use.
You will be using more gas than petrol but the deciding factor is that its very cheap to buy.
Hence the term economy comes into play.

In a few years hopefully we can start installing natural gas conversion and just plug in at home and fill up at night.

We have natural gas reserves to last us 500 years.

I love gas, and think its great, get the right guy to fit it and hey presto.

Leave the petrol tank in case you wanna go on a trip though.Gas gives limited range and limited supply.
