All landie axles are fully floating except very early series 1s.
Most people who want a fully floating axle will swap one axle for another (e.g. Nissan have both SF and FF rears AFAIK). I have never heard of anyone paying to do a FF axle conversion (unless it was a minor part of a custom axle build).
That said, any decent custom axle builder can make one for you.

i was under the impression that the later discos and others were not fully floating? or am i wrong... or dont you class them as Landies :D
its for a retrofit kit with minimal changes.. think commercial stuff. minimal costs..
Thanks

Sorry, you are right. The Disco2s, D3s, and the last 1 or 2 rangie models have SF axles or some variation on it.
Not to pick on your idea, but I don't see how you can do a conversion with minimal changes. And certainly not bolt on.

its doable... if you do a search for SF to FF conversions.. plenty of people have tried with varying motors.. im just trying to find a supplier of all the bits (bearing carriers hubs etc) to save us making them here.. it will need new axles too tho.. so its not that minimal :D
Thanks tho..

A company called 'Romac engineering' do floating hub and axle kits for Ford 9" and GM 'salisbury' diffs.
I put a kit in my Torana a few years ago. The hub kit was $1k and axles made to order about $400.
They still make harmonic balancers and floating brake rotor kits, so I'm sure they'll be able to help you out (sorry, don't have distributor details - google??). Anyway, if you have a look though a copy of Street Machine there might be an ad for someone else doing floating kits.
Soooooooooooooo, whats the project:)

Actually I have FF axles all round on both vehicles, so no good to me.
Unless he is offering a cheap 35 spline conversion for a Sals as part of the package.

Warn used to make FF conversions for Dana 44's, (Jeep, IH, etc. rear ends) don't know if they still do.

Do it properly and fit Dana 60's with 35 spline axles front and rear. ;)
Having said that, my bushie has semi floating axles, front and rear, and I would not dream about swapping them (better than Dana 60's for my use).

commercially sensitive yes.. well done Andy.. :D but no not something that will be tested like that.. .and series are fully floating (i think)! its for a project im doing to save making them up ourselves.. looks like manufacture would be easier.

nope nothing related to strength.. more related to the braking system..

swapping rear axle is NOT and option as this needs to be a minimal hassle install only, or as much mimimal hassle as possible!
Thanks for the input guys..
