View Full Version : 200 Disco compared to 200 Defender

I'm trying to find a 200Tdi for my S111 109. Only seem to come across Disco 200 Tdi for 2k:(. I am aware the Timing cover is different. Any one know is it possible to shoehorn it into a series with series Box . Is bell housing the same etc. I'd use a defender one but they are rare as.
If this wont work ill have to put a 2H toymotor and gear box in it:o As is all I have spare:(

Isn't the turbo in a different place as well?

If you aren't in a hurry, Disco engine minus Turbo and IC seems easier

Isn't the turbo in a different place as well? Yep. It will have to fall off:eek: Would kill a series box in our hills.;)

My heart says keep it Rover. Hence 200 engine. I have a fealing the 2H will be less drama in the long term. I'll have to think about this one. :confused:
I already have some Toyota fleet here so doesn't bother me crossing the two.:D
