lol - this aulro site doesn't like large images - the 900 forum lets you link to externals properly.

Upstairs? - not me - I'm of an "independent mind" as they say. Just get out and about and be friendly to people with large cameras who say they work for the NZFWD magazine!
(he is an LR owner anyway - which helps of course...)

Anyway - there's not too many FCs out there on the road!
Get on and get yours mobile - then you'll appear in the 4WD mags yourself ;)

I don't know what provider you are using however I have no problem with Photobucket.

Recognise someone? (I love that ad!! :) )

Regarding, getting the F/Cs on the road, Yes - its the problem of too many projects and 160KM between me and their home, with chores to do in Sydney as well. :BigCry:

Is this better for your eyeballs?

Funny you should post Leonard's photo - I need some assistance!
His winch drive shafts fell out a while back (ie lost! gone!) and a mate kindly machined up a replacement - using a Japper drive shaft and half a CV joint.
It worked well but didn't have the double UJs in it and was pretty close coupled.
Off-roading last weekend the winch drive shaft pin split pin came out. The drive shaft slid back and jammed against the crank pully. I hadn't loc-tited the crank pully bolt in place and the resistance worked it loose
End result? - bolt unwound itself and pushed the whole engine/trans backwards until it locked up solid
We had to remove the winch to get everything out!
Found the crank bolt first 5mm of threads knackered so couldn't put it back. Got towed home for safety's sake...

Plan A:
Find someone who has original winch drive shafts/UJs and can give me a set of drawings from which to have new ones made up. I don't want to use the UJ-less one again - it doesn't have any 'give' in it and means that the winch and engine have to be more or less in direct alignment. Originals allow for that special British flexibility!

Otherwise I'll have to buy a whole winch set up from someone at $600!

(Nothing back from Blanchards yet)
