In my endless yet unproductive quest for the bestest, lightweight camper trailer (see this earlier thread of mine) (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/general-chat/55302-backtrax-camper-trailers.html), I noticed that Pod Trailers now have a full off-road camper option. I did a search and came across this thread (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/trailers-vans-campers/31720-saw-podtrailer-last-night-2.html)here where it would seem that there are a number of members using straight trailers already.

How are they going? Has anyone here got a podtrailer camper?

When I optioned up the Backtrax (which I was previously looking at) it came close to $20K. This puts into into the full, camper, caravan range so it automatically killed itself off. It seems that even with all useful options, a Pod Compact Camper is still under $10K.

Sorry, can't help myself.

Do the bars come off the top so that the cover can be used as a toboggan/water sled/rowboat?

:D:D

Cheers

Now that's an excellent looking bit of gear. Especially for the price.

Nice looking bit of gear and would be excellent in the bush but... I bought a full on off road trailer and ebay camper trailer top for an all up price of less than $5000:D
And for 12 times a year the campertrailer works excellent and I dont feel like I got too ripped off!!!!
Like I say each to their own, spend what you can justify but dont overcapitilise on a once in a while hobby!!!!

(If you saw my boat you would understand!!! Lucky I can make 2 stoke motors run hard!!!);)

Cheerio...

Agree
I have a castaway off road camper trailer . we paid 8 grand (cheap in the world of Off road camper trailers ) for it and dragged it all round aus (nearly 40,000 k's) and we still have it . But as it is not alot we have it parked under the house ready to go when we want to . But i would not want anything more expensive sat under the house not being used most of the time :)
