I dont want to sound rude but what kind of a dumb **** question is that, the go is its a website/ forum for landy enthusiasts, if you didnt know that you're in the wrong place.

Look around, post a reply if you feel you can help.........or not:D

Start a thread in the introductions section with details about yourself, car etc

Most importantly, put your location in your profile id your going to ask questions:p

i am a newbee too mayt , its all fairly intuitive, just click on bits and buttons and see what happens, - just dont play with the smilies yet - - they bite newbees, I know - I only joined this group a few minutes ago, and they are still sniffing my hand:soapbox:
clicking on various topics will take you to a page where members will have asked questions, or in turn answered them - - others are more of a technical tips page.
I only know this from visiting an almost identical site for land rover UK.
I hope this helps, - - just keep clicking away - - you cant over rev it ???
DUHHH - I think !!!!:wasntme:
good luck

ps, IGNORE the smart arses with the one line responses, they cant think of anything constructive to say !!!
of course they know it all - - except how daunting these sites are - if you havent been shown around one before.
Maybe one of them will be able to help you with a specific answer to a specific question - just dont ask anything too technical, you may get bad advice from a jerk - - so dont ask things like "whats the pcd for a RR 89 wheel stud?" - - - most of them wont know what a pcd is.

It also brings up Pollution Control Department but that's nothing to do with Land Rovers :p.

I had so much fun , I bought the company, well not quite, but i did get a 89 vogue , 3500 efi , and scar

S aitch I T - sorry I mean SNAP!!!!
my floor is like that, fortunately not structural bits ( yet )
except if you count where the back seat belt connects to the wheel arch.
I knew it was going to be a bit of a project, but with arthritis effecting the sex life - I needed to do something.
I took it to a government run W.O.F. / M.O.T testing station as a pre purchase check - and they didnt even pick it up!!!!!, maybe the floor rust wasnt in their worry basket - - but you can move the seat anchor about 50mm carpet and all - - they were more worried about my headlights being set too LOW!!!
Good Luck mayt - - with yours,
p.s. how do yu get rust in Auz???? - its hot and dry over there isnt it ???

Hey Katena, Now that we've broken the ferrous oxide - I mean "ice" - Let's move off SHED's thread - why don't you start a thread in the introductions area and tell us all about yourself and your vehicle(?) - I take it you are OS, UK? SA? US?
Wots yr story???

ok i may do a cut and paste from l/r pongolia.
I now back in Auckland, NZ, not usually known for too much rust , especially South Island. - I have a HOLDEN Jackeroo, bought from the OTAGO region, with small 18oo cc, RODEO engine, 4wd, hi /lo , good for fishing rivers, a few tree stump dings, NO RUST, cheap to run and MAINTAIN. - i have bought and sold that vehicle twice over 5 years - cos i know its a goodie. sold it with a slipping clutch, bought it back cheaper 2 years , and 2 tourist groups later, with the clutch replaced, I wasnt in the mood for dirtying my fingernails at the time.
bought a 89 vogue , about 2 weeks ago, evrything good except the mild steel bits and the engine....( yip it was import from UK )- just for fun and tootling round the forsests and dunes, - - to much of a guzzler to use as everyday car - but it still needs to be road legal .
past my bedtime here, will add info to intro's maybe tomorrow.
got to go or my cpap machine will think i dont love her anymore.

you are forgiven - just shows how easy it is to get in th Saitch i t, when you doint have the full story, assume, or take things out of context. Politicians are hit with it a lot of the time. Loanrangee was downright rude!!!!! - - no appologees from me on that score.
responses such as (?) , what??, google it!, are all in the same basket, we have chosen to come here - to get the benefit of experiences of others.

Hey Katena you made your point - do you wan't to talk about Land Rovers? We'd probably even entertain talking about your Isuzeroo - although that may generate some flak too.:D;)
Start a new thread; tell us about NZ offroading; tell us about how you got your RR; you say fuel is expensive - how much do you pay in NZ? all this and more will generate interest - you might find we are a reasonable bunch!:) Although we love stirring Kiwis up;) (Don't read too much into the banter - it is the internet after all!)

Cheers

Oh give me a break, as i said i didnt want to sound rude but the orignal post was akin to running into a firestation yelling help then saying nothing else! This is one of the best laid out enthusiasts websites/ forums on the net, if you cant find your way around then you need to go back to school and lurn howe to reed and speelll .

response to economy of 300 tdi (http://www.aulro.com/afvb/general-chat/58136-300tdi-fuel-economy-post761543.html#post761543)

My wife and I have travelled in excess of 200,000 kms in a defender 300 tdi !!!!! the average would be approximately 12 l/100 km !.

Funny this thread almost reminds me of a stoush with a UK forum :D,

You're probably right, most of us probably don't know what a pcd is but what I love about this site is that there is nearly always at least one person who does know the answer and plenty of others with pretty funny responses.

You get to know pretty quickly who knows what they are talking about.

Welcome to both of you. :D

I can pretty much guess which UK site that was!

Had you asked here, you would have had the answer in minutes. In fact, a search with PCD or Stud Pattern as the search term would have given you multiple threads on the subject, e.g., http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/51718-stud-pattern.html

Some of us do know what PCD means.
