Hi all
I'm a first time user so sorry if I've posted this into the wrong section.
I have just purchased a 2002 Defender and am looking to put a Discovery 2 high range gear into my transfer case.....can anyone give me any hints on the best way of doing it.
Thanks
Glen

I've always wonder about this option too. Although I was thinking of a complete transfer case swap. The advice I have been given is that the gearing will be too high - maybe OK if you've chipped the td5. Probably cheaper than an overdrive (GKN is about $3K or so fitted). I'll be interested in the feedback too.

Consider fitting larger tyres. 255/85 will raise gearing by 10% or so. Cheaper too.

$1100 exchange from Award Diffs at Rydelmere.

ive got 33's and they still dont lower the rev's enough.
a td5 defender will run the D2 gears fine chipped or not.
