ZTE CK 150 car kit problems

A bit off topic but not too far.
My daughter has a 2007 Xtrail which has a Canbus system.
Her work bought her a ZTE150 and CK150 car kit in September last year fitted by the ZTE agents Accessory Wholesalers.
It has never worked properly.
It has a "beat" interference of regular clicks/bangs about 2 per second on all calls.
The installers have fitted 4 count em 4 new data boxes to no effect. The only time it has worked is when the installation genius did not connect the power/battery charge wire to the phone. ( so to me it suggests that the interference is power related)

The installer is now trying to wash his hands of it. I rang em today and gave em what for, but its clear that they do not have a clue.
They are coming again in a couple of weeks and I will be there.

It occurs to me that the Canbus issue could be a cause of the problem. Maybe polling on the circuit that the power is being taken from.
Any ideas??
I have been researching this for about 8 hours now with no luck.

Do you know where they are taking power from?

Or a ground or earth issue? They mention antenna grounding and car kit earthing in their FAQ....

Thanks, yes I have looked at the FAQs and I have posted on the ZTE forum, so hopefully someone from ZTE will answer.
But how difficult can it be?
My bet is that it is the Canbus polling a circuit, and its probably the radio mute. I say this because I found several postings on interface kits to fit ipods etc to Canbus controlled radios.
Could be the power source.
But surely the geniuses could have tried a capacitor or shifting the power to the battery, and controlling with a relay.
Theis is the ZTE car kit Australian agent that fitted it.

Hi Canbus,
ZTE carkits can cause a lot of problems. No matter what is done they will not charge the phone for some reason. Phones discharge and then shut down.
The only way to restore operation is to charge the phone up from the mains plug pack charger.
As well these ZTE's will only work with a ground isolated aerial. Cannot use a grounded type aerial or else earthing problems occur when results with a lot of noises appearing when the phone is in use.
Know of govt organisations which have these phones and have found them generally to be next to useless.
Repeated requests to ZTE for remedies have been to no avail.

Funny, my ZTE252 and self installed car kit is perfect, as far as performance goes. Convenience is another matter. I have a 6DB grounded aerial and it works fine, but I noted that it should not be grounded on the FAQs.
My daughter's car kit has charged in three of four fixes, however the only time it worked properly was when it didn't charge. LOL

I am determined that her's will be fixed. after the next attempt, if it is unsuccessful the next call is to Fair Trading. I will be supervising, to ensure they do more than just swap bits.
In the end I will fix it myself, but I have to go through the motions as it is under warranty.
