Hi,
Has any one bought any thing from paddockspares in the UK. If so are they good to deal with?

quite a few of us have delt with them, can be hit and miss, but the best way to deal is phone them as email is response is at best slow.

Hi.
I dealt with them a couple of times in the past and found them very good.

You are right about the email response. I will ring them as prices seem to be realistic $60 Aus for a LHS electric window regulator CUH102310 (mine's broke) against $150 in Australia.

Also a few other bits I want at good pricing, 48 p to $1 Aus at the moment.

Respond quickly, prices right, do what they are told as to shipping instructions, know their stuff.

I used to buy from them, but about a year ago had a major runaround for about a month, as they could not tell me the correct water pump number for my RRC. I eventually got it but alot of toing and froing with a girl who did not seem to know or care.
Also the freight charges from British post have gone up a lot.

Now that we are almost par with the USD, I have noticed that Atlantic British seem quite competitive and US mail rates are better

I have not yet used them but am tempted to buy a Dizzy cap and rotor as they are cheap.

Pat, the tensioner is available here for under $90 trade as Dayco pt. # APV1004 from your favourite local parts supplier :p

BTW, been waiting well over a week (nearly two) for a freight quote from Paddocks.

Hi,

I ordered a new brake M/C, set of 5 stainless braided brake hoses extended 2", full set of f&r pistons, seals and pads. Was about $480 including post and was here within 7 days. Jan or Feb this year.

The M/C alone here is $300.

As someone has already said.........order over the phone. Girl at the other end was very familiar with part numbers, etc.

Orders that do not exceed $1k including postage or freight do not attract duty.

^^^^ Paddocks will package separately if you wish, but post costs a fair bit more.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

Hi DB,

It may have been freighted, rather than post. Was delivered to the front door, but can't remember if it was the posty or one of about 10 different freight people who drop stuff off. Box is long gone.

Was definitely a week.

Once ordered a pitman arm from Tassie at 3pm and that was here at 10am the next day. That was definitely freight.

On the downside........HID's from HK took nearly a month. They were supposed to be stocked in Melb. Worth the wait though.

cheers, DL

Hi DB,

I live in the state that was once described as the 'Albania of the southern hemisphere'.

Doing my GST this morn (belatedly) and have the chance to check dates as per above.

$493 debited to Paddocks on 12/2, parcel arrived on 18 or 19/2 while I was away working in the little Yarra at Warburton. Installed all the following W/E.

cheers, DL

Thanks everyone for the info. Ended up getting the LHS regulator from Rovercraft in Perth for a realistic price.

Just got a set of seat covers for my D2 from lrparts.net. Posted 30/6, arrived 7/7.

In 05 I bought heaps of parts ex UK, always took 5-7 days by Royal Airmail. One time I actually used a courier instead like Fedex to gets parts ASAP it took 2 weeks!

Maybe there's no such thing as Royal Airmail anymore????????

royal mail send pretty much everything by air....

i personally think getting things from the uk royal mail or not your very lucky if you get it with in 7 days.

you have to remember it when posted generally the next day of ordering it has to go to be sorted in the uk..it then gets freighted to australia which takes at least 24hrs they cant get it here any quicker!!! then it has to go through customs and then go on to be sorted in oz then to be posted......

and remember working days not days total.

i'm not saying you cant get it in 7 days!! as some have proved very my to my suprise that it can be.
but i think you should be timing a delivery in 7-10 working days so you dont get angry that it hasn't arrived:).....

and despite what some people say royal mail are very good at making australia post look crap!! even though they never had the best rep in the uk they have really bucked up their ideas over the last couple of years

Hi,

Just found the dockets from the stuff I got from Paddocks and the parcel was definitely freighted, not mailed.

I have dealt with them on one occasion and I had a good run, I kept it under $500 and it didn't go through customs, came straight to the door and in 6 days all ordered via email

A mate has had several dealings with them and once they added the cost of freight into the cost of goods, this caused him to cop a hit from customs (GST and import excise) but it was resolved with a few calls (not paid) and they gave him a better price on the next items he bought as an apology, he used the phone each time but his freight is no quicker
