Well, the Kings and Billie's are in :p

After much searching, discussion and consideration I went for off the shelf Kings Raised. So far so good.

Unexpectedly, some used Bilsteins appeared with only about 500 k's on road use only. The surprise is that they are BE5 B994 & BE5 B995. There is also a steering dampner as well. According to much searching these shocks are to suit a 50mm lift.

So far costs are just under $1000 so you've got to be happy with that :cool:

Now my concern is this......

When I installed the rears it looks like I may have a problem with the ABS & brake lines :confused: It appears that on full extension these lines are at full stretch.

Now, I am unlikely to be ever in a position to be at full articulation but do I need to protect the lines from being stretched? And if they do what do I need to do.:confused:

I have searched endlessly......Slunnie & Baz, I know where you've been :eek::D:D:D:D

I'm all 'google'd out........:eek:

you should extend your lines and a a brake specialist can make them for you to suit, the ABS sensor wires are a simple cut and splice in a shunt of appropriate wire.

If youve lifted and extnded your potential articulation you should always extend the lines to make max droop as one day you'll do it only to find that all of a sudden the brakes have gone away...

Rather than cutting the ABS wiring, another way is to unclip and the wire pull it across the corner of the chassis, move the cable clip. You will get more than enough length for a 2 inch lift.

As for the brake flexibles, get a pair of front flexibles off a D2 for the back. The front ones are longer and will give heaps more than a 2 inch lift. These are also available for purchase, specially designed for a lift.

One way of checking before you start is to undo your rear shocky and lift the body gradually, measuring and checking until you have extended 2 inches past the previous top position of the shock. Cheers, Erich
