G'day everyone, just after some elder knowage if you have the time

What do you think this is worth, its a 1984 model

Imported Landrover County 110 tray same as Defender but with stronger engine, tough go anywhere truck with 3.9L izuzu diesel(same as the australian army uses) constant 4WD, difflocks (maxi lock) front and rear, HD axels and diff housing, aux long range tank, wing protectors, winch, bullbar, sidesteps, checker plate roof over tray (strong enough to camp on or for heavy loads) tray and tyres are getting a bit old

I'm looking for one of these or a 300tdi defender in north QLD if anyone knows anything?

Any help would be grate, Thanks
Tristan

That vehicle is what is known as a 120. It is technically not a county, as they don't have a county trim spec.

They are asking top dollar, but if it is rust free it is probably worth it, especially if it has MD lockers.

I have seen some with rusty chassis and no lockers sell for $5k or thereabouts. $4k - $10k depending on rust and general mechanical condition - is what I IMHO think is reasonable.

Matt (rovercare) owns one of the same vintage. According to official documentation, they weren't made till '85, but there seem to be a few '84 models getting around.

there is a 1990 Isuzu 120 uto on ebay now for 5k. Last of that run. It looks pretty reasonable. There was another 1986 mod that sold for around 5k. Front and rear lockers would have cost at least $4k fitted.

300 tdi will be quiet in comparison to drive.

That's one thing i forgot to ask, I know the S111 3.9 are realy noisy (people stare at you when you go down the street!) but are the county's any better (can you have a conversation without shouting) if not, can you get aftermarket sound deadning gear. Has anyone with a county 3.9 done this?

that one on ebay sounds like he uses it for a bull catcher:D

Cheers
Tristan:)

They are a direct injection truck engine so they are noisy. BUT - the countys have better sound deadening (120 utes not quite as much - but better than a stage 1).

On the highway in 5th the 33" (radial) mud tyres are louder than the engine.
