In an effort to distract myself from all my other troubles I'm going through the "what if" tree in relation to replacing our stuffed D2a rather than just repairing it.

Two options: D3 TDV6 SE or new Defender

Either way I need software (especially for the D3) and this is really only in the form of the Faultmate MSV (my RovacomLIte VSE I would sell off).

From what I've read on the http://www.aulro.com/afvb/electronic-diagnostics/59402-faultmate-msv.html thread the D3 software is pretty limited to read & clear and is still being developed. This then begs the question: What about the Defender?

Has anybody got the system for the new Defender?

You've lost me here. I've had my D3 for 18 months, 32,000k and had no faults to clear. Why do you need something like this?

I was tempted to buy this:

Land Rover Omitec T4 Diagnostic Test Equipment System - eBay Other Tools, Tools, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 13-Jul-08 12:48:10 AEST) (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=130235717283&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=003)

But I've already got one.

Because I live 1100km from the nearest dealer.
If something goes wrong its 680km of dirt track to get to the Stuart Hwy
Need any other reasons?
