Hi to all that remember me and hi to those who dont;). I pop in from time to time and see whats been going on in 4WD land. Still working on the missus to get rid of this bloody Pajero, in fact I am starting to make head way , so to my question.

Who has the new Defender ? 7 seater in particular and how do you rate it in general?

Cheers

Hey Noz,

Good to hear from you mate. ;)
Mate I reckon the new Defenders are the ducks nuts, and much more "wifeable" which you prob need. Almost flash inside!

There seem to be a few teething issues and the normal new model issues/design faults etc.

The 7 seats are great too, I'm thinking that'll be my next purchase when the D2 is retired/upgraded/passed on

I cant access that link, something about no approval ?

Must be cause I am not a member anymore:(, think some might cut me some slack;). I am fighting a hard long battle to have the wife into a Defender just so I can rejoin .

I took a 2008 Defender for a drive today, I have to say the driving position leaves a bit to be desired, There is no where to put your elbows and the centre roof support is right along side your head, must be a defender thing;).

Still it went well the new 2.4 is a nice power plant.

NOZ,
I'm toying with the same issue, to buy or not:confused:

The driving position is classic Defender, they couldn't even move the handbrake when they moved the gear levers. And it wouldn't be right if you didn't have to wind down the window to have room for your elbow.

I test drove one yesterday and was very impressed with the drive. Even accelerates up hill in sixth.

My wife likes it provided we get side steps.

Be interested to see what you do. I have to make a decission in the next few days to either fix my Disco or trade it on a new Defender. See the threads in the main AULRO forum section for more info.

We've had ours for 9 months now and LOVE IT! :D Very comfy, goes anywhere and we are having a great time stacking it up with extra's

We havn't had any big issues that have been spoken about but even if it does that's the good thing about buying a new car, it becomes the dealers problem not yours
