Smally,

Jewies this size are great. Smaller ones have a soapy taste.

Tim,

The have taken alot of practice.
I love fishing for them. Great fighters on light gear.

Both those fish were caught on a small 4 to 8 lb rod, 10lb braid and 6lb leader. Took 15 to 20 minutes of chasing around the river.

Yeah they shore do give a good fight my brother caught a 7kg one off the rocks on a tailer spinner once on 14lb braid it took a while to subdue.
Also about 3 months back me and my brother went fishing off the rocks for jew and first cast he got smoked and busted off on 20lb braid and 50lb leader and about 5mins later the same thing happened but on a bigger fish.... they were big:eek:
I would like to catch one on light gear in the river it would be great fun.

The lead enhances the flavour. Chuck em on the BBQ and when cooked slice open and drain the now fluid lead into sinker moulds. Free sinkers for the next trip.
;):p

Even better the boy and his Auskick team went to Perth to play on Subi oval at the half time Fremantle / Melbourne game on the weekend. They stayed at Woodman Point and on Sunday night there apparently was a mass death of seagulls. They returned Monday morning, so now we are blaming them for contaminating the gulls with lead as well.
:twisted::twisted:

The smaller pinky on the table was 10pound and the Queen Snapper (blue one) was about 14 pound.
