Anyone done the lpg conversion in a 300tdi? You notice much difference? And what you pay?

Try a search for LPG fumigation, or LPG injection, or dieselgas, while you're waiting for someone to pipe up.

:D

Hey mate. I want it but the company who I wanted to use never return calls or emails so I have given up because if they are like this when I want to give them 4500 bucks then they will be hopeless with after sales service.

The cost is $2500 out of pocket once you get the govt grant back but you need 4500 because you can only apply for grant once fully paid up. I'm sure different companies will vary by about $500 but $4500 is top dollar before getting cash back.

I spoek to someone at Bunnings down in Penwuff the other day who I saw had it on his disco 300tdi and he really liked it and said it's a new vehicle. Has had no issues but as far as saving money on fuel.. don't count on it.

A big concern for me is where to put the gas bottle, I suppose the best way to get that answered is to go to an installer.

I wish I could get technical but I can't because I have no idea how... But they install it just underneath the vehicle where the passenger and driver door meet. It's only a 30 litre tank in most cases so plenty of room and it does not hang down past the vehicle body.

I'll let you know in two months when mines done. From a dyno power goes from around 50kw at the wheels to around 80kw.It gives you another 150k's range if you drive it normally. All this is from people I have talked to that do have it fitted.I have never met anyone that did not regret fitting it.I'm getting mine fitted in town and there is about ten Tdi's here that have it.The bloke that does it said the Tdi seems to get the best performance gains of any TD that he has worked on.I'm getting the tank in the back as I have battery boxes either side of my truck. I know that they have had email problems. Last week they sent me two emails 3 hours apart. One took 15 hours to get to me, the other took 24 hours. I know when they were sent, I was talking to Brad when he sent it them and the time shown on them was the time I was talking to him. Their system is set up to send immediately.

I've just spoken to him and told him of this message. He hasn't seen any recent emails about converting a 300 Tdi Disco - they stand out as they are Rover guys. Try calling him on (02) 4732-3700 (I assume you have their new number? They have moved down a couple of units in the complex.) Every time I've been there, the number doesn't stop ringing.

Hi Ron. I did try and call more then once. I am aware the number doesn't stop ringing. I am going to look in to other mobs before I go back to them. When someone is going to outlay this many dollars I expect better service. Rightly or wrongly- that's how I feel. It's the fact as I have said in other posts that even when I do catch them on the phone you can hear the urgency in their voice to get off. It ain't very inviting.

Thanks for letting me know though. I met Brad (i think) on one of the trips. He has some old rangies from memory.
