It is directly under the front passengers seat of the 2000 D2 TD5 Manual I own.

changed my mind. I think it holds the compressor itself as I am sure that feeds teh rear airbags directly on a d2, unlike the tank on RR classics.

its for air compresser for rear suspension.saw a guy in birdsville who had it modified to suit a 2nd battery.

yeah.....he was a welder & was sick of destroying batterys that were mounted near the turbo,which is where a lot of them are fitted.he had a one of those batterys a yellow one cant remember the brand mounted on its side,worked well.

the heat destroyed the under bonnet second battery.....its pretty hot out there were talking 35-40c most of the time

I di think about the second battery but the height available ain't too much. The idea of haing it out of the engine bay appeals.

Putting a compressor there is the otther option.

yeah and swimming may not do it much good

after a lot of procrastinating over years i eventually have one fitted behind the cargo barrier inside a plastic box.i connected it to the car with an anderson plug so can remove it .my son also uses it in his navara.

Thought about something like that myself and ended up buying a kit to use under the bonnet. Just need to get the time to put it in but with no long trips away for at least 10 months the two in the camper trailer will do.
