My wife took the D3 for a trip to Katherine, and on the return home visited the Douglas Hot Springs. On the way in she drove through a two metre stretch of very shallow water (mere inches), and the Disco abruptly stopped in the middle of this puddle. She said the engine was running, but the throttle ceased to respond. She shifted into Park and then back into Drive and all was well.

On the way back she went very slowly through the water, and everything was fine.

Funny thing is, the Disco has survived a Darwin Wet Season (and even got bogged in our front lawn!), so we're perplexed as to how a little puddle could cause a problem.

Of course, the car would have to do this when there were passengers. Not a very good demonstration of the Disco's off-road abilities!

Sometimes the DSC can cut in too easily and cut engine power at awkward moments I have learnt to switch it off for water crossings, but shallow water would be unusual, sounds like water ingress into a sensor. Get the dealer to check for fault codes and look for poor connections.

crossing water fast spashes a lot of water around an engine bay, slow and steady is normaly best with water ;)
