It is a very good buy with so few km's on the clock, it would be worth about 16-18k but i wouldn't sell it for a maverick.:no2:

If you are worried about the clock being wound back, then ask for the service records. You will be able to see the steady progression over the years (hopefully about 6 or 7 thousand Kms per year) if all is well. If it suddenly goes backwards, you know you've got a problem!

It may be correct.
I bought my 97 Tdi in 2004 with 35,000 on the clock.
I suspect the guy had bought it aspiring to do a "big" trip, but and it sat in the garage most of the time.
But yes if they can't produce the signed service records it might be sus.

Oh yeah it is easy to wind the clocks back on them
so as said check for other signs of how many K's like the seats, engine, body panels, genersl condition

I had a maverick swb heap of **** you name it and it went wrong head gasket alternator oil leaks worse than a land rover gas system problems and it only had 96000 kms on the clock also power steering are a problem with these vibration in the drive train once lifted have to fit spacer plates to crossmembers you name noisy inside rattles.

One good point not bad off road and nissan lovers snap them up quick smart dont know why.

um a m8 at work want it gone, he just bought a house and a new wrangler and he does not want to sell it online.
he is just sick of it.
buy hard work i mean he has had it for about 7k i know his ex gf used to drive it and he thrashed it a bit and broke one engine mount.

Also how hard is it to get it lifted as it has rear air bags can u get airbag spacers or am i going to ahve to get coils all round?

Hi,
If it is a DII then 'clocking' it is tricky as the speedo computer HAS to match the ECU otherwise the odo will flash. This tells you the 2 computers don't match.

You can tell if the vehicle has genuine mileage. Rubbish ones look like it.

My 10c worth,.

D2 by the sounds of it.

They shouldnt be able to do it without warning.

It can be reset using testbook until the car hits 50km or something like that, after this it cant. The D2 stores the odo in the dash and in the BCU, and if there is any differentiation from tampering etc, I'm pretty sure the odo will flash indicating that there is a discrepency.

Thats not to say that someone hasn't worked out how to do it I suppose.

Hi Slunnie
Not sure wether it was here or elsewhere, but I recall a post saying the ECU displays the biggest number Ks of the 2 when a miss matched dash/ecu combo is fitted.Stops the low K dash being abused.
May trigger others memories.

On the P38A, if either the instrument panel or the BECM are replaced, both end up being set to the higher of the two distances.

We have wondered if one was approaching 999.999 km, would they both change to 000,000 after another one kilometre of travel?

I just had look on RAVE, and it seems the dash unit can be reset to match the values in the BCU using Testbook.
