Forgot to post this earlier but the other day we did a day trip to Beerburrum SF.
On the way heading north through Burpangary we're doing 100kph on the M1, I looked right to see a black RRS with a surf ski on the roof, reversing along the southbound emergency lane back to a turn off he obviously missed.
We were doing 100 and he/she must have been doing 80  given the time it took for him slide out of view. God knows what the south bound traffic thought:eek:

I recall once when I was very young, when there was a 4 lane section just north of Dreamworld which then became a divided highway.
I was travelling south in a blinding thunderstorm in really heavy traffic going about 100KMh.
A Studebaker Lark came down the southbound right lane doing 100Kmh northbound, the guy driving wide eyed and brakes locked on the wet road.
The amazing thing was that everyone in the right land just switched lanes calmly and he didn't hit anyone.
I think its the only time in my life I have seen such a concerted appreciation of the danger and everyone cooperating to let the right lane people in.

You wouldn't want to be travelling in anything but a perfectly straight line when reversing at speed. There is a reason why cars don't steer from the rears only. It's very easy to do a 'knight rider' 180 :D

Ya gotta hand to the guy in the yellow truck. Not only didn't he get run over, he didn't crush any oncoming cars while reversing back, and he had matching clothes! Maybe its a Wiggles sideline?

80K'S IN REVERSE?????? I would have thought 25 or 30 k's max.......
hang on.... if he missed the turn off, he must have been going quite quick, that means its fast in forward gears, then 80k's in reverse.... well its obvious, its a Company vehicle, which would make 80kmh a reasonably reserved figure for going backwards!!!!! pmsl:angel:
