Does anyone in the Sydney area have the necessary tool to reset the air suspension on a P38??
The height sensors need resetting, after new airbags installed for a trip.
Thanks

I only found this 'cos Ivery819 told me. No specific subject posts often get missed.
I have the software and the genuine calibration blocks.
Dunno how to use them - yet.

Hi Ron
Fancy having a practise, at your convenience, mate just got back from a trip and his air suspension is playing up. I think when he's had his tyres rotated, they've lifted the old girl up on a two post hoist and buggered the sensors up.

Lifting on 2-poster shouldn't matter. I've done it many times. I get the occasional pop off of an air bag but I just refit it and off I go.
He could try using the free EAS reset and height adjustment software downloadable from the 'Net. See http://www.aulro.com/afvb/good-oil/59179-eas-electronic-air-suspension-sls-self-levelling-mods-emergency-fixes-kits.html for links.
In particular, see http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-chatter/43905-p38a-eas-reset-without-testbook.html
I have the software on my PDA phone so I can plug in at any time.
Oh, I've never tried Guinness and I'm not sure I want to.

I didn't reset my suspension after changing my suspension bellows. I must admit, I don't know when one would actually reset them. I've never done it.

Ron you don't know what your missing...its the single malt of beers....
ever get out Camden way, know just the pub for a real one out of the tap
anyway back to the point, I'll have a look at the links, and see what we can do
His suspension is doing weired things, its like its trying to adjust its self all the time with the back and front going up an down, leave it over night and sometimes the fronts down and sometimes the backs down,
got a mind of its own.

It could be a leaking valve in the valve block. I'm abut to do a rebuild of mine. It does the same sometimes.

I'm going to leave that one alone ! :lol2:
Changing the bellows should not change the height settings (although it doesn't hurt to check them at the time.) I am assuming that the new bellows are correctly seated and have been leak tested after installation.
I agree with Ron that the most likely cause is the valve block. That awful crusty, white deposit seems to build up in the valve block and comes loose after the suspension has been exercised to extreme travels. I have been told that 'circuit board cleaner' will shift it but Ron will probably try that before I do.
In the past mine have been so badly infected that cleaning was not an option.
If there is no other bore damage then new 'O' rings and seals are definitely a cheaper alternative than a new valve block.
Experience has shown that unless reconditioned or replaced earlier, the compressor will probably need rebuilding at the same time as the valve block fails.

OK guys heres the owner of the beast, he can explainer more about the things its doing
Things that have been replaced so far Orings & diaphragm in valve block replaced compressor piston.
symptoms are first thing sitting on bump stops in the morning, takes approximately 5 mins to raise to stander ed hight then drives normally until you turn the ignition of for a few minutes and remove key nose drop
or the Ares drops but not all the time, on re start car regains normally hight, standard hight or so it says but in fact it goes up to off road hight
