View Full Version : Thought the SIIB rims were sorted!

Well bad news over the weekend, went on an exercise getting the rims to fit up the new tyres. Previously had three rims grit blasted and re-painted with two fitted up with the best of the Alliance Traction Lug 9.00 16. The third rim was fitted during the week with the first of the new Superlug 9.00 16 and plan was to fit those onto the green SIIB so I could liberate another three rims for the cleaning, blasting and re-painting procedure.

Took the first rim off and it was, as expected, a 569203 part number (3/8" +ve offset), then the second and it's a 543384 part number the neutral offset design for the SIIA forward controls and I thought only up to suffix A SIIB. Checked the third wheel rim and again hiding behind the step, another 543384, then the last wheel also 543384. All up out of five wheels for the green SIIB only two were the 569203.

Bugg@#

The result is now: when I thought I had eleven 569203s for the two SIIBs I'm keeping and would be able to mix and match wheels between both. Now I only have eight and a pretend 569203 where someone has replaced a 231601 centre into a 6.5" rim. Only just enough to have four real 569203s on the road for each vehicle.

What should I do, shoe the green vehicle with five 543384s so I can' mix and match between vehicles or go on the lookout for two or three more 569203s?

considering how rare they'd be, take whatever you can get!

With the recent count, I now have a full set of the 543384s SIIA rims (plus five more on the third SIIB thats being disposed of). Then I have eight 569203s as well as two pretend 6.5" wheels with replacement centres one set at 569203 offset and the other at 543384 offset.

So I actually have sufficient for both vehicles with spares if I don't want to use the wheels off one on the other for long trips.

If I could find three 569203's in usable condition I'd even be happy to swap them for a set of five 543384s.
