Has anyone made their own body lift kit?

Have a thread going about the Rovertym lift kit and was wondering if anyone had made their own one up?

Yes, but with Rangie and Disco is a bit involved. The seat belts, Rad,Brake pipes etc. Mine also cracked the body mounts over time with hard use as I only used round bar Blocks .(The blocks were to small but all I had here at the time.) Cut brake pipe mount off iner guard and moved down 2 1/2" Turned the T piece on Rear brake pipe so faces up. Cut bull bar and extended mounts. IT was cheap to do though:D I have fund some engineers don't like them done this way. If you have a big impact at high speed the body may shift and cause controls not to work. Some wont agree on this... But Talk to an engineer 1st if your thinking about it and show them how you intend to go about it. This is why I like the expensive LRA kit. Whats a few hundred dollars to prevent all the dramas. Tony.

Thanks for that. I have already done the longer brake line thing and I don't have a back seat fitted anymore so rear seat belts aren't a prob.

Have seen the LRA kit fitted and it does look great, only prob is my truck has been certified already and at $400 a time I was trying not to have to do it again for a while.

I will have a better look at my mates LRA kit and think about all the little things that need sorting out aswell: hand brake lever, radiator,bumpers

My truck is a Classic 1974 2 door, Is there any other things that might need looking at for the lift?

Brett Things to look for other than the obvious. I can't think of many. Fuel filler, Earth cable,fuel pipe,Clutch pipe, Steering shaft, fan cowl any thing else that is attached to the chassis:confused:

Notice the brackets for front and rear. It also lifts the bull bar. Tony.
