any ideas anyone

ian went to move the heater matrix today.......

according to the manual you dont need to remove the whole heater box

you just take of some cover and the matrix should just pull out!

well its not it feels like its lodged on somehthing its loose you can wiggle it backwards and forwards but you can not lift it out

very annoying

Also Big thanks to tony for helping us out with the part!!!

ok scrap that, apparently you do need to remove the heater box......ian started and well just as we feared he has taken part of the dash away and the firewall has had it!! its rotten...........:( so maybe its not just a new head, new heater matrix its a new firewall as well
its not like we were not expecting it, as we have a galv one sat in the shed waiting to go in, just wish it wasn't now......ians ****ed off to say the least, he said he gunna have to read up on how to do it now..

hey any firewall changing guru's on here in sydney that might like to come around for a BBQ and a chat tell us what we have to do?? :)

Bad news about the firewall:mad: But a galv one will fix all the probs!:)
You are fortunate in a way because the vehicle is whole. IE you just have to space the firewall from the front outriggers to fit the existing panels. The real issue is starting with a bare chassis. You have to 'guess' the alignment in order for all the panels to 'fit' and the roof not to leak etc.

A few BBQ's will be req to do that job me thinks...

just patch the hole for now, then in 6 months time when the rest of the firewall has rotted out you will only have to install the new one:wasntme:

cheers phil
