Been trying to get canvas seat covers for the new Defender. Black Duck aren't going to make them. Haven't heard back from others - Candy Canvas, Takala, Dingo.

I seem to recall someone mentioning Michelle's Sacs, but can't find a contact for them. Does anybody know where they are based?

Still to try Exmoor trim, but I thought with seat covers I'd start local.

Is there anyone else I can try?

I got a set from Dolium in Perth. Dolium PTY Ltd (http://www.dolium.com.au/view/page/120/cat/Cotton_Canvas.html)

They come in grey or biege (I got grey) and they fit good and look great. they are heavy duty cotton, not canvas, but they seem pretty good. I cant remeber the cost, but I seem to recall about $800 or so for front and rear, which makes them a bit cheaper then $1200 for a full set of Michelles Sacs, and you get head rest covers included.

cheers

Craig

I think they might be the ones I just e-mailed: Mevill and Moon. Exmoor trim sell on their website for GBP310.50 for the 5 seats (about AU$670).

Dolium PTY Ltd (http://www.dolium.com.au/view/page/120/cat/Cotton_Canvas.html) It would appear are selling the Escape Gear (http://www.escapegear.co.za/) seat covers which look very similar to the Melvill and Moon ones. I think I'll be giving them a call next week and see how much etc. The Dolium web sites a little ordinary and I'm only assuming this is what they stock for the Puma!

They made the sheep skin ones on my D2 and they weren't what I'd call "the best job I've seen".

I thought it was $890:confused:

Anyway I'll e-mail them too and see what they say shipping is. The Melvill & Moon look a little better (in the photos) and the Exmoor Trim price on them is about AU$670 + shipping. Let me know what you hear back and I'll keep you posted too.

No I suspect they are different and one is a copy of the other. Escape Gear (http://www.escapegear.co.za) is their website. The seat cover backs don't appear to have the zip pocket of the M&M's

Yep they are different - They currently only have a full set of Tan ones in stock $890. But will be ordering for (airfreight) more at the end of this week.
So if you want some sooner (3 months before the next order) get hold of them before Friday (08) 93621744. I've order the grey as SWMBO tells me to :(

I dont need the zips or rear pockets of the M&M's as the kids stuff their crap in those hangover holders with pockets - so there is no access to us grown ups.

Yeah I rang Dolium yesterday and they told me the grey was out of stock. M&M price through Exmoor Trim is very good, so I'll see how it pans out.

I have the best seat covers known to man or woman. A mate got some heavy duty canvas; took patterns from the seats and sewed 'em up on his industrial sewing machine. Voila. They fit like a pair Lobbs shoes (http://www.johnlobb.co.uk/). he is a genius with canvas.

Anyway my point is we are all two degrees of seperation from knowing somebody like that. Defender seats come out with a spanner and a handy canvas sewer can sort you out quicksmart

Just to finish this off. Myself and one other from the forum have ordered Melvill and Moon (http://www.exmoortrim.co.uk/images/mandm.pdf) seat covers through Exmoor Trim.

Will post up pic's once they arrive and are fitted.

MSA Products, previously Michelle's Sacs make fantastic seat covers.

Michelle actually came to our house and took the design off Grover's seats to make the new 07 Defender seat covers - they are a beautifully crafted product - I doubt you can buy better.

I can't exactly remember the price but I think they were about $450.00 - so cheaper than the M&M's?

They are also cotton lined - this prevents rub on the seat fabric which over a long period of time can cause wear. But most importantly, they have a southern cross stitched in them - they're Australian.

And I'll add to that and say I was quoted a smidge under $1200 from MSA for front and rear + 5 head rests.

Nothing against the product, they also look good. Two things for MSA or other seat cover places if they read these posts:

1) Why do rear seat covers cost more in Australia than front ones when its the other ways round overseas:confused:
2) I'm buying seat covers, seats include head rests, so why should I have to pay an extortionate amount more for the head rest covers in addition to the seat covers:confused:
