Hi Tony;

It's a Custom-Bar made by John Davis , he now has a work Shop which he operates out of in Middle Dural , does a lot of work for the Saudi market .

I'll PM you with a Phone number this afternoon.

thats a great looking truck. I am searching for a 2 door RRC to build up but looking at yours, I could be tempted by a 4 door.....:(

those 285/75/16's dont look too big for the alloys, I thought the alloys were only 7 inches wide but the tyres look like they fit well without too much sidewall bulge ;)

Short stuff,

I have a 285/16 MTR on a Vogue alloy at work, it looks too squashed out to me:(:( Maybe the BFG's are less 'wide'?

On another note, I had a customer in yesterday evening that was going to offer2K for a certain 2 door...You might want to go take a look and se if it is still there;)

Hi shorty ;

mate;I wasn't after a rangie at all , 2-door or 4-door , when i went down to inspect a D2 at karl's workshop which was for sale, I saw the Rangie he had for sale , so i bought that instead :o:D:D

the 285/75/16 BFG's look well balanced for those Vogue alloys , there isn't a lot of protrusion on sidewall with respect to the guards.

JC , I think you might be right , the MTR might be slightly wider that BFG's.

Wouldn't i be better off taking that Bar off and Fitting a powder coated ARB style Bar ?? that way it doesn't ruin the Polished Aluminum Bar ??

Another thought to consider there is already a lot of black in that Rangie ,Tinited windows , Trim etc , so the Polished aluminum bar would just break up Dark colors?

it's all a matter of personal Choice really , wouldn't you agree?

Yes it is personal choice, i have always liked the blacked out sections of the rangie body work like the A/B/C pillars and the bare alloy makes it look like a 70's vehicle - except if it was white then it would look ok.

some more pics from the interior of the Rangie , it's cleaned up a bit now, The centre console is made by Karl.

on top of the centre console behind the electric window switches sits a Waeco cooler which plugs into 12 volts cigarette lighter outlet, The CDL gear lever had to be extended to cater for the 2 inch lift hence the vinyl fabric ,it's stapled around the inside of the square cut out , but I 'll have to make another one as it's not long enough ( sorry mark )

I'll pull the driver's seat off tomorrow , resolder one of the ECU wires and electric tape it and cut out more Rust :).

I've only spotted this thread today - nice Rangie, well done! I did notice one thing - and I don't mean to be a nark, but your rear rego plate is obscured by the rear wheel carrier... I know, I know 'big deal and all that' but some zealot from the Poh-leece or RTA might offer you a $320 odd fine with 3 points plus a defect notice if he/she's a bit grumpy. The reg's say it's got to be visible/legible 'to a distance of 20 metres at all angles to 45 degress up and across'. I saw you're in the Hills district and I know an 'enthusiast' or two out your way...

Just a heads up mate, looks like you're already having fun with it:D

Hi mate; moved the sponge Mat out of the car today and left it in the sun to Dry :mad:, but will have to take it out again this saturday again and leave it to completely dry , I have found several holes without grommets on the fire wall so I'm off to Clarks rubber this weekend to buy a few different sizes and plug the holes:mad::D:D:D

Thanks Dawg ,I know exactly ones you're talking about , will have to grab a couple from a 4x4 place , but one question thou and anyone here might be able to answer this question , are the fixed shackles legal on the front of the bar , i've often thought that nothing should protrude out from the front of the BBar even spotties.

They're a great model the 93's I had one and it was still the best rangie I owned. The sponge underlay that the floor is coverd with is a bugger and will rust out the floor in no time as it holds plenty of moisture. Mine was the same and I found patches of rust in mine as well :mad:

I almost forgot they're plenty of **** uner the floors of them esp with the ABS gear.

Trav

Hi trav

I'm gonna try and get down to Clarke's Rubber this weekend to get a few different size grommets and cover a few of the holes up . I did that to my disco the small Holes I covered up with Sikaflex ,I think once I'm finished with the car It will Float on water :D:D:D:D Ive put the Sponge back again but don't think it was a good idea , the passenger size the ABS cables are pulled thru and are cable tied and left behind the heater core , I'm hoping there would be the size grommets I'm after at Clarkie rubber .

Re ECU... Lose the Driver vent (Use less)and stick it in there. If you get in water that deep you have problems:eek:
Tony

You should have a pic of the one you got of me, that has the ECU there, seeing as it came on the lower fascia panel:D

Thanks for positive comments RaZZor , I noticed that on you Rangie you still have the Standard un-modified airbox , should you wish to install an LRA snorkle at a later stage , here is how I've modified mine to fit in an Auxilary battery due to go in shortly. LRA provides a circular plate in their kit , but I didn't use theirs I made my own up out of sheet of alluminium and rivotted them in to the front plate of the airbox with sikaflex sandwitched in between.

well folks ,spent day 3 pulling the sponge Matt and carpet out of the Rear cargo area of the Rangie and cleaning and preparing the surface of metal inside and getting it ready for paint , fortunately for me there wasn't much rust , so job was easy only tiny spots which easily came of with a few rubs of steel wool , LPG tank was tricky to shift to be painted underneath :o:D, there are 2 flat plates that bolts the frame to the floor etc, so they had to be unbolted from underneath the vehicle , so all in all.

no dramas.....

:D:D

I had to add a little bit of paint thinners to the can of Acrylic and mix it together well so it's more runny,being a hot day and acrylic drying up rather quick it gave me a bit more time to work with the paint to brush it on and it went on nicely, the paint had slightly thickening out too , there are some spots that I need to go over with the brush again , but i don't think i'll bother , carpet will cover it and it won't be seen at all.
